Annual MMPC Photo Clinic – Wednesday January 4, 2023
MMPC traditionally holds an open house and clinic on January to attract new members. All MMPC members are invited to attend on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. Please note the start time and encourage attendance by all that may be interested. Please help us to publicize this event by sharing information through social media and other means. To encourage you to bring a guest, we will hold a raffle open to MMPC members that bring a guest to award a free annual membership for 2023-24. The club will offer a free membership to a guest and in addition have a raffle for members with a $25 prize. Members will get one entry per guest that you bring and the club will draw the winner.

MMPC Logo Clothing
MMPC clothing items are available to order. You can specify a hoodie as a pullover or zip-up or you can order a t-shirt. The order form is at: http://mmphotoclub.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/MMPC-clothing-order.pdf You can bring your order form to an MMPC meeting or you can send your order form to the address on the form. Delivery will be at a future MMPC meeting.
Gallery Show Planning
The annual MMPC Gallery Show will be held again at the Riverview Church – Holt Venue. The dates will be March 8, 2023 – May 24, 2023. All MMPC members are encouraged to display their images. The pricing will be $10 for up to two images. All prints must be matted, framed, and ready to hang (with wire on the back of the frame). The maximum outside dimensions of the mat are 28 X 32 inches. Minimum outside dimensions of the mat are 8 X 10 inches. Members may offer their prints for sale, or they may choose to have it on display only. The following are the dates for the 2022 Gallery Show, to be held at Riverview Church, 3585 E Willoughby Rd, Holt, MI
Setup – Tuesday, March 7, 2023 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Take-Down – Tuesday, May 23, 2023 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
The club’s April 2023 meeting will be a Gallery Show Reception at Riverview Church – Holt Venue.
Big Cookie
Congratulations to the winners of the October Big Cookie (fungi): James Leary for people’s choice and Diane Sanderson for judges’ choice. The judges were Karrie Baker and Greg Baran. The theme for next big cookie is “SHADOWS.” Members are encouraged to bring a digital image for the Big Cookie competition at the February 2023 meeting.
MMPC Monthly Photo Challenge
Thanks to all who have contributed to the MMPC Photo Challenge. The December theme is Holiday Trees. It is great to see the submissions on the Facebook page. A gallery of the photos from prior months is on the MMPC web site at http://mmphotoclub.net/monthly-challenge/. If you do not use the Facebook group, send your entry by email to mmpclansing@gmail.com so that we can post it to the Facebook page. Discussion of the photos, beyond simply liking the picture, is encouraged. The current and upcoming monthly themes for the photo challenge are:
