Mid-Michigan Photography Club March 2022 Updates

April 2022 MMPC Meeting

To provide all MMPC members the opportunity to see the images in the 2022 MMPC Gallery Show, we will hold the April MMPC meeting as a reception for the Gallery Show.  The April MMPC meeting will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2022, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Riverview Church – Holt Venue, 3585 E Willoughby Rd, Holt, MI. The meeting and reception will provide MMPC members the opportunity to view the photographs on display in the Gallery Show and to interact with photographers whose work is shown. Please invite family members and others who may be interested in your images and or the images shown by the club members. Guests are encouraged to attend the event.

Gallery Show

The annual MMPC Gallery Show is now at the Riverview Church – Holt Venue, 3585 E Willoughby Rd, Holt, M. There are 25 images in the show. The dates for the show are March 9, 2022 – May 24, 2019. A couple of reminders:

MMPC April Meeting and Gallery Show Reception at Riverview Church – Wednesday April 6, 2022 – 6:30 p.m.

Take-Down – Tuesday, May 24, 2022 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Photographer Needed – First Presbyterian Church – Sunday, April 25, 2022

The Mid-Michigan Photography Club holds its meetings at First Presbyterian Church. The Church has a special event scheduled for Sunday, April 24, 2022, and is asking MMPC to identify two photographers to document the celebration. This is the first time that the church has asked the club for assistance. If you are available and can attend that day, please contact us at mmpclansing@gmail.com.

Save The Dates – Upcoming MMPC Meetings

The Mid-Michigan Photography Club planned meeting dates include:

  • Wednesday, April 6, 2022 – Gallery Show Reception at Riverview Church – Holt
  • Wednesday May 4, 2022 – shooting event at Woldumar Nature Center
  • Wednesday June 1, 2022 – Big Cookie Quarterly Event and Scavenger Hunt

The web site calendar at http://mmphotoclub.net/calendar/ has been updated to show dates through January 2023.

Big Cookie

Congratulations to the winner of the March Big Cookie: James Leary for people’s choice and for judges’ choice. The judges were Rich Wyllis, John Stine, and Kathy Wright-Lareau. The theme for next big cookie is “FLIGHT.” Members are encouraged to bring a digital image for the Big Cookie competition at the June meeting.

MMPC Monthly Photo Challenge

Thanks to all who have contributed to the MMPC Photo Challenge. The March theme is Nuts and Bolts. It is great to see the submissions on the Facebook page. A gallery of the photos from prior months is on the MMPC web site at http://mmphotoclub.net/monthly-challenge/. If you do not use the Facebook group, send your entry by email to mmpclansing@gmail.com so that we can post it to the Facebook page. Discussion of the photos, beyond simply liking the picture, is encouraged. The current and upcoming monthly themes for the photo challenge are:
