December Meeting

The annual MMPC Holiday Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. Main dishes including vegetables and salad will be provided. You may bring a desert to pass if you choose. Please respond no later than Saturday November 30, 2019 to the event on Facebook or to mmpclansing@gmail.com so that we can get a count of members planning to participate. A slideshow of MMPC members’ photos from the 2019 MMPC Photo Challenge will be running during the meeting. Big Cookie theme will be “Music.” We will meet at First Presbyterian Church, 510 W Ottawa St, Lansing, MI. Please join us.

Big Cookie

Congratulations to the winners of the September Big Cookie: Diane Sanderson for people’s choice and Tammy VanderMolen won the judges’ choice. The judges were Joe Holley, Jim Leary, and Rich Wyllis. The theme for December Big Cookie is “MUSIC.”

Field Trip to North Pole Express

MMPC will sponsor a field trip to photograph the North Pole Express on Saturday, December 7, 2019. We will meet at the Burger King near the Perry exit on I-69 at 8:30 a.m. An event has been posted on the Facebook page.

Annual MMPC Photo Clinic

MMPC traditionally holds an open house and clinic on January to attract new members. All MMPC members are invited to attend on January 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. First Presbyterian Church, 510 W Ottawa St, Lansing, MI. Please note the start time and encourage attendance by all that may be interested. Please help us to publicize this event by sharing information through social media and other means.

Gallery Show Information

The annual MMPC Gallery Show is now in place at Riverview Church – Holt Venue. The show will be in place through December 16, 2019. Please feel free to stop by Riverview Church, 3585 E Willoughby Rd, Holt, MI to view the work of MMPC members. Exhibitors can pick up their photos on Monday, December 16, 2019 between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

MMPC Photo Challenge

Thanks to all who have contributed to the MMPC Photo Challenge. The September theme is Shapes. A gallery of the photos is on the web site at http://mmphotoclub.net/monthly-challenge/. If you do not use the Facebook group, send your entry by email to mmpclansing@gmail.com so that we can post it to the Facebook page. Discussion of the photos, beyond simply liking the picture, is encouraged. Note that the rules for the reward drawing have changed. To encourage participation and to not penalize a member that was unable to post in a given month, each member that posts in a month will receive a ticket in the gift card drawing. A member that posts in all 12 months will have 12 tickets in the drawing. Upcoming themes for the photo challenge are:

• November 2019 – Thanks/giving
• December 2019 – Holiday Crafts

November Meeting

This is just a reminder that in response to requests from MMPC members to hold a reception for the Gallery Show, the November MMPC meeting will be held on Thursday November 7, 2019, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Riverview Church – Holt Venue, 3585 E Willoughby Rd, Holt, MI. The meeting and reception will provide MMPC members the opportunity to view the photographs on display in the Gallery Show.  If individuals who have a photo entered in the gallery would like to share information about their photos, exposure, location and processing, we will provide an opportunity during the short membership meeting. Please note the date and location of the meeting. Guests are welcome to attend the reception and meeting. You can RSVP to the event on Facebook or by email at mmpclansing@gmail.com.
