February Meeting
The February 2020 MMPC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 510 W Ottawa St, Lansing, MI. Mark Chamberlin will lead a discussion on flash photography. Bring your camera and equipment, including your flash, if you have one. Please join us for this hands-on program.

Lansing Orchid Show – Photographers’ Hour
The Greater Lansing Orchid Society hosts its annual show in the Plant and Soil Science Conservatory on the Michigan State University campus. A photographer’s hour is available on Sunday February 23, 2020, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The use of tripods is allowed. The orchids are amazing. Field Trip to Meijer Gardens – Butterfly Exhibit
MMPC will sponsor a field trip to photograph the Meijer Garden Butterfly Exhibit on Saturday, March 14, 2020. We will meet in the parking lot at Michaels (the old Gander Mountain) on Marketplace near the Saginaw (M-43) exit on I-96 at 8:00 a.m. This is a popular exhibit and a real sign of spring. MMPC Photo Challenge
Thanks to all who have contributed to the MMPC Photo Challenge. The January theme is Alphabet in Nature. A gallery of the photos is on the web site at http://mmphotoclub.net/monthly-challenge/. If you do not use the Facebook group, send your entry by email to mmpclansing@gmail.com so that we can post it to the Facebook page. Discussion of the photos, beyond simply liking the picture, is encouraged. Upcoming themes for the photo challenge are:

- February 2020 – Books – For those that are interested, we are challenging you to use a depth of field technique to emphasize part of the image.
