December 2022 MMPC Meeting
The annual MMPC Holiday Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. Main dishes including vegetables and salad will be provided. You may bring a desert to pass if you choose. Please respond no later than Sunday December 4, 2022 to the event on Facebook or to mmpclansing@gmail.com so that we can get a count of members planning to participate.
We are asking MMPC members to share their five best photos of 2022 to display during this meeting. You can send your images to mmpclansing@gmail.com or you can bring them to the meeting on a thumb drive. A slideshow of MMPC members’ photos will be running during the meeting. We will meet at First Presbyterian Church, 510 W Ottawa St, Lansing, MI. Please join us.
Annual MMPC Photo Clinic – Wednesday January 4, 2022
MMPC traditionally holds an open house and clinic on January to attract new members. All MMPC members are invited to attend on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. Please note the start time and encourage attendance by all that may be interested. Please help us to publicize this event by sharing information through social media and other means. To encourage you to bring a guest, we will hold a raffle open to MMPC members that bring a guest to award a free annual membership for 2023-24.

Gallery Show Planning
The annual MMPC Gallery Show will be held again at the Riverview Church – Holt Venue. The dates will be March 8, 2023 – May 24, 2023. All MMPC members are encouraged to enter. The pricing to enter will be $10 for up to two images. All prints must be matted, framed, and ready to hang (with wire on the back of the frame). The maximum outside dimensions of the mat are 28 X 32 inches. Minimum outside dimensions of the mat are 8 X 10 inches. Members may offer their prints for sale, or they may choose to have it on display only. The following are the dates for the 2022 Gallery Show, to be held at Riverview Church, 3585 E Willoughby Rd, Holt, MI
Setup – Tuesday, March 7, 2023 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Take-Down – Tuesday, May 23, 2023 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
The club’s April 2023 meeting will be a Gallery Show Reception at Riverview Church – Holt Venue.
Big Cookie
Congratulations to the winners of the October Big Cookie (fungi): James Leary for people’s choice and Diane Sanderson for judges’ choice. The judges were Karrie Baker and Greg Baran. The theme for next big cookie is “SHADOWS.” Members are encouraged to bring a digital image for the Big Cookie competition at the February 2023 meeting.
MMPC Monthly Photo Challenge
Thanks to all who have contributed to the MMPC Photo Challenge. The October theme is Reflections. It is great to see the submissions on the Facebook page. A gallery of the photos from prior months is on the MMPC web site at http://mmphotoclub.net/monthly-challenge/. If you do not use the Facebook group, send your entry by email to mmpclansing@gmail.com so that we can post it to the Facebook page. Discussion of the photos, beyond simply liking the picture, is encouraged. The current and upcoming monthly themes for the photo challenge are:
