October MMPC Meeting Reminder and Gallery Show Information

October Meeting

The October meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church, 510 W Ottawa St, Lansing, MI. The speaker Devin Munroe will discuss Shooting with Spheres. There will be an opportunity to pay annual dues and gallery show fees at the October meeting.

Gallery Show

The annual MMPC Gallery Show is coming up in October. All MMPC members are encouraged to participate. The fee for participation in the gallery show must be paid at the MMPC meeting on October 4, 2016 or by mail on that date. There are two forms that must be submitted to participate. There is the Riverview Church Artists’ Agreement, and the Application for MMPC’s 2017 Riverview Gallery Show. The following are the dates for the 2017 Gallery Show, to be held at Riverview Church, 3585 E Willoughby Rd, Holt, MI

  • Setup – October 23, 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
  • Open House October 27, 2017, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
  • Take-Down – December 18, 2017, 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

By-Laws

The MMPC Board has been working on the By-Laws for MMPC.  The membership adopted By-Laws that are posted on the web site at http://mmphotoclub.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/MMPC-by-laws-Adopted-2017.pdf. This year we will just be holding an election for an At-Large position and we are welcoming nominations for voting at the October meeting.

Dues

MMPC started collecting annual dues at the September meeting. Thanks to those that paid on time. MMPC dues run from September through August of each year. MMPC members will need to be paid up to participate in the Big Cookie Competition, the Gallery Show, and to follow the Facebook Group.

Big Cookie

The September Big Cookie theme was Red, White and Blue. Congratulations to Diane Sanderson, Judge’s Choice and Tammy VanderMolen, People’s Choice. The December Big Cookie theme will be Smoke.
