August 2024 MMPC Meeting

The August MMPC meeting will be held on Wednesday August 7, 2024, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Michigan State University Horticulture Gardens. Park for free in the evenings in the staff lot off of Farm Lane near the greenhouses. Meet near the entrance to the Children’s Garden.

The Mid-Michigan Photography Club planned meeting dates include:

 Big Cookie

Congratulations Rich Wyllis who is the winner of the May Big Cookie (Animals) for People’s Choice and for Judges’ Choice. The judges were John Stine, Peri Bianchi, and Molly Brown. The theme for next big cookie is “Carnivals, Festivals, and Fairs.” Members are encouraged to bring a digital image for the Big Cookie competition at the September 2024 meeting.

MMPC Logo Clothing

MMPC clothing items are available to order. You can specify a hoodie as a pullover or zip-up or you can order a t-shirt. You can bring your order form to an MMPC meeting or you can send your order form to the address on the form. Delivery will be at a future MMPC meeting.

 A limited number of club emblem patches are available for $15 each. The patches are 3½  inches square, embroidered, three color patches on heavy white cloth. See Glenn Dunn if you are interested.

 MMPC Monthly Photo Challenge

Thanks to all who have contributed to the MMPC Photo Challenge. The July theme is Sunset/Sunrise with the suggested technique of Foreground Interest. It is great to see the submissions on the Facebook page. If you do not use the Facebook group, send your entry by email to mmpclansing@gmail.com so that we can post it to the Facebook page. Constructive discussion of the photos, beyond simply liking the picture, is encouraged. The current and upcoming monthly themes for the photo challenge are:

• July 2024 – Sunset/Sunrise (Foreground Interest suggested technique)
• August 2024 – Farmers Markets (Textures suggested Technique)
